We work out the volume from photos or a video of each room, then set the crew and vehicle for the day. On moving day the crew loads at the old address, drives to the new one and places furniture and boxes in the rooms you name.
Keys are usually released on completion day once the money has passed between solicitors, which can be well into the afternoon. The unload starts once you have the keys, so tell us as soon as you hear of any change to the date.
What the work covers
The load worked out from photos or a video of each room, including the loft, garage and shed.
Furniture and boxes carried out of the house, loaded and secured for the journey.
Each item set down in the room you name at the new address.
Pianos, large mirrors, glass tables and American-style fridge freezers planned for at the quote stage from your measurements.
Some or every room packed before the day and priced in the same quote.
Questions people ask
How much does a house removal cost?
It depends on the volume of goods, the distance, the access at each address and whether packing is added. Photos of each room with the cupboard doors open give the clearest picture for a quote.
What happens if completion is delayed on moving day?
Tell us as soon as you hear of a delay. If completion moves to another day, the contents may have to stay on the vehicle or go into storage, which changes the cost.
Do drawers and wardrobes need emptying?
Heavy items, liquids and anything breakable should come out of drawers so the furniture is safe to lift. Say whether you want clothes left in drawers and wardrobes, and whether packing is part of the move.
Do you move garden furniture and shed contents?
Yes, list them with the rest of the move. Empty the fuel from lawnmowers, disconnect gas bottles from barbecues and mention large planters or ornaments so the lift can be planned.
