Property services in Swansea

Cleaning, repairs, drains, gutters and gardens, removals and diggers with a driver, across Swansea and Gower.

Shared houses need an HMO licence

Swansea Council runs additional HMO licensing in the Castle, Uplands, St Thomas and Waterfront wards, so a shared house there needs a licence whatever its size. Licence conditions include keeping fixtures, fittings and appliances in good and safe repair. Landlords in Uplands, Brynmill and St Thomas usually book cleaning, repairs and drain checks in the weeks after the academic year ends.

Skips and removal vans need council permission

A skip on the road needs a highway permit from Swansea Council, applied for at least 24 hours ahead, and a skip in the city centre has to be covered and locked. A resident or pay and display bay outside a house can be suspended for a removal through the council's parking suspension scheme. Give the street name and any parking restrictions with a removals enquiry.

Trees in conservation areas need six weeks' notice

Swansea has 31 conservation areas, among them Ffynone and Uplands, Mumbles and Morriston. Most pruning or felling of a tree in one of them needs six weeks' notice to the council, and a tree under a Tree Preservation Order needs the council's consent. Swansea Council is also the planning authority for Gower, so the same notices apply in its villages.

Seafront property needs cleaning more often

Windows, gutters, conservatory roofs and render along Swansea Bay and in Mumbles collect a salt film that rain leaves behind. Glass and frames there dull faster than in streets further inland, so the cleans come round sooner.
